Big Idea: From the very beginning, God has made his light to shine

Reflect

2 Corinthians 4:6 (The Voice) The God who spoke light into existence, saying, “Let light shine from the darkness,” is the very One who sets our hearts ablaze to shed light on the knowledge of God’s glory revealed in the face of Jesus, the Anointed One.

John 8:12 Jesus said, “I AM the light of the world.”

What is the source of that feeling?

Read Genesis 1:1-5 (print verses from NIV)

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
